So I am a film director of music videos I wrote and directed a short film that premiered a film festival last year and I’m going to direct my first commercial in September. I’m freelance which means I work for different companies different clients depending on what the job is, I get those by pitching my idea in the form of a treatment and then if I win the bid then we will go into pre production do the shoot, edit and deliver the final project. One of my main responsibilities is seeing that project through from beginning to end so what we promised the client what I’ve written the ideas going to be. Often you’ll agree a story board so each frame and each shot is pre-agreed. And then when we’re on set it’s my responsibility to make sure that is what we’re shooting that is what we’re delivering and then in the edit to make sure that that process is also seamless and we're delivering what we’ve promised. I will also say that one of my main responsibilities is that each shot is authentic so it’s my responsibility to call cut and then decide whether we’re going to do another take or whether that take was good enough.
